Therapy for Anxiety

Anxiety can show up in many different ways

01
Physical Tension & Symptoms

02
Racing Thoughts & Constant Overthinking

03
Avoidance of Tasks & Feeling Overwhelmed

In therapy, we slow things down enough to understand what your anxiety is communicating, rather than simply trying to push it away or override it.

  • Anxiety is often a signal from the nervous system that something feels unsafe, uncertain, or overwhelming. While it may manifest as overthinking or worry, it is also experienced physically as tension, urgency, or a sense of being unable to settle.

For many people, anxiety becomes a familiar pattern over time, shaping how they respond to stress, relationships, and daily life.

  • My approach to anxiety is somatic and trauma-informed, meaning we work with both the mind and the nervous system. Alongside understanding thought patterns, we focus on how anxiety is held physically and how to gently support regulation and release.

This may include developing awareness of body cues, practicing grounding and regulation skills, and exploring the underlying experiences that contribute to ongoing activation. The work is paced collaboratively so it feels manageable and supportive.

  • As therapy progresses, many clients begin to feel less on edge and more able to move through life with a sense of steadiness. Anxiety may still arise, but it often feels less intense, less constant, and more manageable.

There is often a growing ability to stay present, respond with intention, and feel more connected to yourself rather than overwhelmed by your internal experience.
